“Inge Perreault is an author who shows great diversity in her work. Whether she writes poetry or prose, short stories based on fact or fiction, newspaper commentaries with a most keen sense of humor or social criticism, the most important fact shining through is her passion for the relevant subjects."

She and her husband, a free-lance photographer, moved to the Azores after living on a small island off the South Coast of Massachusetts in New England.

"Birth of a Tumbleweed” – Memoirs of Growing Up in Post- Nazi Germany, takes a look back at a chapter in history millions of Germans who were born during or shortly after WWII have never been able to talk about. The time has come for them to be heard and to throw off the burden of guilt placed upon them for the horrors they personally were not responsible for. There is a need to tell their own story of suffering under Hitler’s fascism as well as the stigmatization she has experienced all of her life because of her German roots even reaching into the present... hence her book has found readers as far as Australia and Tasmania. Inge Perreault, though non-Jewish, also lost relatives in Auschwitz because they were outspoken like she is and made their opposition known.

Civilians who are merely considered to be “collateral damage" in any  WAR and any part of the world must be given a voice too!

While this is the story of her life, she decided to speak for all innocent victims of war regardless of race, color or religion, thus validating the importance of every human life that has and is currently adversely affected by the evils of WAR.

This book follows her country collection of short stories “Duck Soup – Vignettes of Country Life” and shows a side of the author few people are familiar with.

Aside from continuing to write articles for newspapers and magazines she has just released her third book entitled "FOR WOMEN ONLY - The 50 plus Roller Coaster." A collection of short stories aimed at the baby boomer generation covering the entire spectrum of life at this time. Funny, poignant or sad; experiences this generation of women is faced with in a much different fashion than their mothers were.

She was a regular contributor to the California based KinA-Magazin, a bilingual magazine for teachers and children learning German or parents wishing to raise bilingual children.

Inge Perreault founded the Southcoast Chapter of CLEAN POWER NOW! in April of 2004 and is an activist supporting sources of clean and renewable alternative energy.

Her move to the Azores was part of her continuing quest for simplicity,  a natural curiosity of different life-styles, cultures and linguistic abilities her "Tumbleweed" nature have pursued all of her life. The result will be a book in collaboration with her husband's photography about life in the Azores in the 21st century.

She puts her heart and soul into every book, poem or article she writes, as well as into her passion for a cleaner, healthier environment."
